Typescript recollection by Virginia Watson Applegate of her early childhood and her family's six-month trip from Springfield, Illinois (March 1849) to King's Valley, Oregon (September 1849). She was only nine years old during the trip, but remarks on the harshness of emigrant males toward others in the company.
